On My Way to become a Fish Whisperer
It’s been almost two weeks since my last update because, honestly, I’ve been busy af. Like, wake-up-at-6:45AM-and-start-working-at-7:30AM kind of busy. And it’s not just weekdays—we're talking seven days a week, no rest, no peace, no Netflix. I’ve been working non-stop since 22 June, and today is the first time I’ve had a moment to sit down without collapsing face-first into a pillow.
I technically get four off days every month, but I still haven’t decided when to use them. So yes, they’re just sitting there… waiting. I’m thinking of saving them for when master's applications open, so I can finally romance my laptop and write that motivation letter like my future depends on it—because it does.
Anyway! In these (almost) two weeks of sweat and saltwater, I’ve met so many people, heard so many stories from customers, and shared my own. A lot of them like to ask for my Instagram—don’t ask me why—so my follower count has been slowly climbing like it's training for Mount Everest.
That said, I doubt I’ll be writing much over the next 3 months. Why? Because I'm too lazy to open my laptop, and also because the table in my room is so tiny, my laptop looks like it’s wearing crop tops. I’ll probably update again when I finally use one of my off days—or when I miss hearing my own thoughts.
Oh, quick life update: I’m currently collecting bruises like they’re rare Pokémon cards—thanks to hauling those tanks around. But hey, I’m still alive and miraculously injury-free. Praise be.
Now for the highlight of the week: I did my first discovery scuba dive (DSD)! Yup, first time underwater with a tank, breathing through my mouth like a confused fish. At first, I panicked hard—like “get me back to the surface, I’m too pretty to drown” kind of panic. But my Dive Master (DM)—let’s call him V—was super calm and held onto me like I was a panicked toddler at a swimming lesson.
Eventually, I got the hang of breathing and started to enjoy it. V brought me around to see underwater stuff—like actual clownfish! Seeing Nemo live and in full HD right in front of me was pure magic. And swimming with a whole school of fish made me feel like I had officially joined the cast of Finding Dory.
Oh, and fun fact: V accidentally hit me in the head with his tank underwater. It wasn’t too hard—more like a gentle bonk—but now I have a lump on the left side of my head and a funny memory to go with it.
So yeah, until next time—stay safe, stay weird, and if you ever find yourself underwater, don’t forget: mouth breathing only.
