Father’s Day
Okay, okay… I know I’ve been updating this blog like once every two days. But can you really blame me? I’m currently living my best potato life at home with absolutely nothing to do—and it’s dangerously comfy. Like, nap-at-2PM-and-still-sleep-at-10 kind of comfy.
So tomorrow is Father’s Day, but we decided to celebrate it today because tomorrow we have dinner with church friends (aka social obligations disguised as fellowship). Naturally, I turned to my trusty food-hunting partner-in-crime—Xiaohongshu. Honestly, XHS is now my unofficial Chinese Google, minus the ads and with prettier pictures.
Anyway, I was scrolling through posts and saw that everyone and their grandma was recommending this one restaurant… which we’ve already been to a million times. So I dove into the comment section, a sacred place where foodie treasures are sometimes hidden—and voilà! I spotted someone mentioning “Dive Cafe and Grill.” It sounded fishy (pun intended), so of course I Googled it like the responsible adult I occasionally pretend to be.
The place looked legit, and the prices didn’t scream cry-in-wallet. So I did what any impulsive but practical girl would do: booked a table for five at 6:30PM via WhatsApp—because we’re classy, but also lazy. I even requested indoor seating because apparently they have outdoor tables and I’m not about to eat my steak while battling mosquitoes or dodging potential rain like it's Survivor: Dinner Edition.
Before dinner, I had a very important mission: nails. Booked my usual nail salon for a full set—hands and feet, baby. Appointment was at 1:30PM and I didn’t leave until nearly 5. I legit almost fell asleep during the session because the aircon was blasting directly at my face like it was trying to whisper: “Sleeeep, you beautiful sloth…”
Color update: feet = dark red (mature, mysterious), hands = pinkish red (because soft girl vibes never go out of style). 10/10, no regrets.
Also! Tomorrow we’re finally doing a full-family portrait shoot because everyone’s actually in town (miracle). Yes, even our baby dog is included—because obviously he’s part of the family and probably the most photogenic one. Let’s just hope the shoot goes smoothly and nobody blinks, sneezes, or runs off halfway through. Fingers crossed.
