Not "nope" as in they didn’t ask questions, but "nope" as in I never got to do my presentation at all!
Here’s how it went: we were supposed to present in order—first a guy, then another guy, and then me. The first two did their parts, and just as I was ready to shine, the organizer said, "Okay, let’s head down to the production area and check out the improvements there!"
I was standing there like, "Wait... what about me? Are we coming back to the meeting room?" Spoiler: we did not.
I did manage to squeeze in a quick introduction while we were in the production area, so I guess that counts as my presentation? Not quite what I imagined, but hey, at least I tried!
Oh, did I mention that we’ve had customer audits these past few days? Honestly, I can’t remember—my poor old brain is failing me! Anyway, it was actually a pre-audit from another branch of our company in Japan. The real audit is next week, also by a Japanese company (because one audit just isn’t enough..)
Two Japanese colleagues came over for the pre-audit and shared some helpful feedback on how we can improve our processes. Before they left, they handed us a souvenir. It’s like a biscuit but shaped like a piece of bread. So adorable! One thing I really admire about Japanese culture is their emphasis on thoughtful gestures. They always bring gifts wherever they go—it’s such a heartwarming tradition. Makes me wonder if I should start doing the same!

I’m having lunch with a friend tomorrow, and we’re going for Korean food! I can already hear my poor tummy crying in excitement (or maybe fear—it’s not used to such a treat!).
To be honest, the only proper meal I usually have during the day is my lunch at the company cafeteria. My breakfast is super basic: just a cup of green tea and a packet of biscuits. Dinner isn’t much fancier either—usually a cup of oats and an apple.
Lunch, though? That’s where I go all out (kind of). I usually get economic rice with 2-3 dishes: some meat (chicken, pork, or fish), a veggie, and something like egg, tofu, or tofu skin. And the best part? It’s so affordable! Meat costs just SGD1.50–1.80, veggies are around SGD0.80–1.00, and the rest are usually SGD1.00. Good food at such a steal—who could complain?
