You only live once!

Here's an update on my baby dog:
They took him to another vet clinic for a second opinion. They presented the X-ray of his heart, but this doctor mentioned that it’s hard to draw conclusions from the image, and the assessment of an enlarged heart might be inaccurate. He suspects that the sneezing could be due to a lung infection instead. They believe this doctor is more reliable because he could identify all the possible symptoms even before they described them. He told them to stop giving him the heart medicine and said he’ll prescribe something for the infection instead. For now, they’ll keep monitoring his condition.

To be honest, when I first heard this, I shouted "Thank God!" in my heart. I feel so blessed and grateful to know that God is really taking care of him. Stay healthy, my baby!

his little tongue...😭

I’m not sure if it’s because my period is about to crash the party, or if I’m just in one of those “everything is against me” moods. Feels like the universe is having a personal vendetta against me lately…I just wanna pack up, move to some totally new place where no one knows me, and hit the reset button on my life. Y’all ever see that in movies? The main character has everything fall apart, so they sell their house, hop on a plane, and start fresh in a new city or state. They can even change their name! Everyone always says it’s a bad idea because it feels like they’re running away, but honestly, if you’re not hurting anyone else, who’s to say it’s wrong? If you feel like you’re at the lowest point in your life, why not give yourself the chance to start over? Not many people would do it because they lack the courage... but hey, maybe they should!

I’ve always had this plan in my mind, but it’s just been sitting there because I never actually went through with it. But since I started working in Singapore, it feels like anything is possible. Back when I was in my hometown, I used to tell myself, "Nah, I’ll never get a job in Singapore." Who knew? As long as you don’t give up, miracles can happen. God always has a plan for me, apparently!

One thing I’ve noticed about Asians is that we’re kind of obsessed with status, rank, and, of course, your identity. Let me give you an example – I’m pretty sure a lot of Asians have this mindset. If you're working as a cleaner or dishwasher, you’re pretty much at the bottom of the social ladder. The top spots? Always taken by engineers, doctors, lawyers, and the like. Another thing is, if you graduate from university, it’s pretty much expected that you should be in some high-end desk job. If you’re working as a cleaner or dishwasher, it’s like you’re wasting your degree or something! This is why some Asians in their mid to late 20s, including me, feel so confused and struggle with our identity. It feels like if we make one mistake, the next 50 years of our life will be completely ruined!

this is really happening irl!

I love how Westerners are so chill about making life choices. Even if they mess up, they’ve got the courage to just start over again. That’s definitely something I need to learn from them! I actually don’t mind working as a cleaner or dishwasher. It’s an old and kinda cheesy quote, but “you only live once”! I just wanna try out all sorts of things and explore new places, instead of being stuck in some high-end desk job in the same office for 60 years. And I believe a university degree shouldn’t be a measure of someone’s status or rank. It’s really just a way for us to learn more and explore new things. The further you go, the more things you’ll get to see. I’ll just quote another Chinese saying, “δ½ θ¦εŽ»ηœ‹δΈ–η•Œ, δ½ ζ‰δΌšζœ‰δΈ–η•Œθ§‚!” ("You need to see the world to have a worldview!")

let's go!
