Stuck in the middle..

I graduated with an engineering degree two years ago, and now I’m here in Singapore, working as an engineer. It’s my third month, and honestly? Singapore feels a bit dull to me. It’s a tiny city, yet everyone’s constantly rushing, and I hardly feel any friendliness around. Almost everyone’s glued to their phones or zipping by without a glance. To beat the boredom, I’ve tried exploring the food scene, but everything tastes pretty similar—and the prices are no joke!

It also feels like people here aren’t genuinely enjoying life; instead, they’re pretending to be happy by hopping into events, just to look ‘happening.’ I bet a lot of us are only here for the currency, and I think this is the downside of Singapore—because when money becomes the motive, everyone only cares about the money. To be honest, work is really boring. The longer you work, the less you learn. It feels like I’m stuck in this phase of life with nowhere to go; the only thing I can do is work... This is why now I am exploring opportunities to move abroad, either to study or to go on a work-and-travel program. Should I study in Germany because it is tuition-free? Or should I apply for a work-and-travel visa for New Zealand or Australia? Well, let's see...

Price: 21.35 SGD

Side note: I tried the chicken don set at Ontama Don, located at Shaw Plaza. It came with a bowl of chicken don, two pieces of raw salmon and a bowl of miso soup. The green tea is refillable! The portion was large, and it tasted really good. What I like about the restaurant is that they have one-seat compartments for people eating alone. It’s really customer-friendly for those who often dine solo (like me...T^T). Ps. while I was eating, I could clearly hear all the gossip the chefs were sharing in the kitchen because the curtains were really thin. It really made my day!
