Rainy Days, Clothes Drama, and Kermit
I never realized how tricky drying clothes during rainy weather could be! Back in my hometown, we live in a landed house, so I've never spent much time in apartments or HDBs. At home, we have a backyard, and that's our go-to spot for hanging clothes to dry. My dad even built a roof and a fancy movable clothes rack to keep the rain from soaking our laundry—it’s like a little fortress for our clothes!
Here in my rented HDB in Singapore, drying clothes is a whole new adventure! I have to hang them on a long stick and push it out to the other side of the unit—no roof above the area, of course. When it rains, it’s a mad dash to pull the stick back and rescue my shirts. But let’s be honest, there’s never enough time to save them all! 😅 Thankfully, I’ve been lucky so far—no sudden midnight rainstorms soaking everything. Touch wood!
Lately, with the rain showing no signs of stopping, I’ve resorted to hanging my clothes in my room. Thankfully, my room is spacious enough—shoutout to my landlord for suggesting the idea! There’s no way I’m leaving my clothes, especially my inner ones, out in the corridor for all to see. Some things are best kept private!
Rainy days always put me in a bit of a mood. Maybe it’s the gloomy skies, or maybe it’s just the fact that my laundry refuses to cooperate. While searching for rainy pictures on Google, I stumbled upon Kermit staring out the window, and honestly, it was such a vibe. I can’t help but love that frog—he’s the perfect mood for these gloomy, drizzly days.
