Bucket List Dreams
It’s FriYAYYYY! This weekend is the ultimate chillax weekend because, guess what? No tests to study for anymore—freedom at last! I’m treating myself like the royalty I am by staying at home in my cozy little kingdom from Friday night straight through to Sunday night.
And the cherry on top? Next week is just a 4-day workweek, thanks to the magic of Christmas—a public holiday in Singapore! But alas, this year, it’s going to be a “me, myself, and I” Christmas. Usually, I’d celebrate with family and a turkey so gloriously golden it could win an award. But this year? No turkey, no home, just me... trying not to cry into my hot chocolate.
Just now, as I was minding my own business, I stumbled upon a post about skiing on XHS—and BAM! Just like that, skiing made its way onto my bucket list. Speaking of my bucket list, let me just share some of the wild (and not-so-wild) things I’m dying to do:
- Bungee jump off Macau Tower—and maybe some other places if I survive the first one.
- Scuba dive and, if I can keep my cool underwater, earn a diving license.
- Learn how to snow ski (because gliding down a mountain seems fun until I faceplant).
- Learn how to surf and actually stand up on the board.
- Skydiving from a plane—because falling out of the sky at 15,000 feet sounds like a good time.
- Fly a kite (weird, right? Somehow, I’ve lived 26 years without flying one).
- Ride a hot air balloon in Türkiye.
- Ride a camel in Egypt and visit the pyramids.
- Eat Hokkaido milk ice cream... in actual Hokkaido, Japan during winter.
- Go on a safari in Africa and see majestic lions and giraffes.
Oh, and here’s the kicker: I’ve had this A4-sized travel bucket list taped to my wardrobe since I was 15. And guess how many I’ve checked off? Just ONE. Yep, Hong Kong, which I finally visited this year. At this rate, I might need to live to 120 to finish the list... but guys, dreams don’t expire!!!
