Free Lunch Chronicles
To be honest, I was already lying in bed, lights off, fully prepared to drift into dreamland. And then, BAM—out of nowhere, I remembered I hadn’t updated my blog. Cue the mental battle of the century. Laziness was this close to claiming victory.
I thought, "Meh, I’ve already turned off my laptop. Turning it back on is a whole ordeal. I’ll just skip it today." But then another thought popped up, "If I skip it this time just because I’m lazy, it’s game over. One skip will turn into ten skips because, let’s be real, that’s just how I roll. First skip = gateway skip."
So, with the willpower of a sleep-deprived superhero, I got up, turned on the light, and made a pit stop at the toilet (priorities, you know). When I got back, I powered up my laptop and started writing.
I am so proud of this victory over laziness. This wasn’t an easy win, okay? Imagine being all cozy, practically fused to your bed, and already halfway to snoozeville. But nope, I chose discipline over comfort. This is how you train yourself to be unstoppable—or at least slightly less lazy.
Today was another glorious "I-don’t-have-to-pay-for-my-lunch" kind of day. One of the supervisors decided to unleash the corporate card and treat everyone—what a hero! We went to a Thai restaurant called Saap Saap Thai at Joo Koon MRT station.
I ordered the Beef Brisket Boat Noodles with Tendon and paired it with an iced Honey Lime drink (though I’m pretty sure the honey decided to sit this one out). The highlight of the meal was the rice noodles—they gave off strong Vietnamese Pho vibes, and I was here for it.
We also had a side dish that was basically a fried food fan club: fried fish, fried chicken/fish balls (it was totally not friendly for my ulcer :'D). Overall, the meal was pretty good. Nothing beats free food—except free food that tastes great!
