From Haikyuu!! to Real-Life Volleyball Stars

First day of December! I spent the whole day cozying up at my rented house. Fun fact: my landlords are from JB, and they head back there every weekend. That means I get the whole unit to myself—yay for weekend solitude! I woke up around 9 AM today, and you know what? I've come to realize I’m officially “growing up.” Gone are the days of sleeping past 10 AM without a care in the world. My body’s internal alarm now says, “Nope, rise and shine!” around 8 or 9 AM, whether I like it or not. Ugh, adulthood vibes!

For lunch today, I treated myself to GrabFood from a little gem near Boon Lay MRT—a shop called 四川厨子 that serves delicious Sichuan cuisine. I had Tomato Egg Noodles, Garlic Boneless Chicken Feet (though there were still a few sneaky bones in there), and Pork Knuckle Salad for lunch. Honestly, I have to say, I love chicken feet in all kinds of sauces—spicy, garlicky, sweet, and sour, you name it! The flavors are always amazing, and there’s just something about that cold, tangy kick that makes chicken feet so irresistible to me. I’ve heard rumors that Westerners don’t eat chicken feet because they find it weird—but honestly, they don’t know what they’re missing out on! Trust me, it’s their loss. Chicken feet are a flavor-packed delicacy, and if they gave it a try, I’m sure they’d be hooked too.

By the way, did I ever mention that I’m a huge volleyball fan? It all started with the anime Haikyuu!!, and before I knew it, I was diving into the world of real-life volleyball players. My favorite Haikyuu!! character? Definitely Bokuto Koutarou—his energy is just unmatched! In real life, I’m a big fan of Ishikawa Yuki from the Japan team—he’s their leader. At the club level, he plays for Sir Safety Susa Perugia in the SuperLega, and he’s just incredible to watch. I recently watched the 2024 Supercoppa final between Itas Trentino and Sir Safety Susa Perugia, and I’ve completely fallen for Perugia’s captain and setter, Simone Giannelli! His gameplay is so smooth, and the way he uses his techniques is just brilliant. I can't wait to see more of their performances too! Here's to more thrilling matches ahead!
