Wish Me Luck!
I’ve finally powered through all the training materials for tomorrow’s assessment. Since the trainer said everything will be similar to his exercises and practical workouts, I’ve decided to just ride that wave and hope for the best. Honestly, I can’t seem to memorize much these days—maybe my brain went on holiday without telling me. Laziness? Probably. But let’s call it “selective learning” because I only remember things when I actually understand them.
Practical exercises are my jam! Theories are cool and all—they’re the foundation of everything, blah blah—but, let’s be real, they can also be as exciting as watching paint dry. Give me examples and real-life applications, and suddenly, my brain goes, “Ah, I get it now!”
For today’s lunch, I had Yong Tau Fu—a glorious dish featuring tofu with all kinds of random (but delicious) fillings. There’s this Yong Tau Fu shop at the MRT station near my area, and let me tell you, it’s my go-to dinner spot. No joke, a few months ago, I basically became a VIP customer there. I could eat it three times a week like it was a personality trait.
The deal is unbeatable: you get to pick 5 kinds of Yong Tau Fu with 1 type of noodle or rice OR 6 kinds of Yong Tau Fu—either combo for just 5 SGD. It’s practically a bargain sent from the heavens.
Today, I went with one piece of cabbage, a tofu stuffed with fish, an eggplant filled with meat (my veggie had a meat upgrade, clearly), and two pieces of dumplings. For the noodles, I chose udon because I was seriously craving for it. The soup was just the classic clear broth—nothing dramatic, but it really gets the job done.
