April Fools, Sweat, and Steals

Happy April Fools’ Day! Or should I say, Happy Day Off!

I woke up around 10 AM today, and wow, life felt too good—except for the minor inconvenience that my aircon decided to betray me at 7 AM. So basically, I was forcibly ejected from my sleep by the subtle yet persistent hotness because, well, no airflow in the room. Ah, the joys of renting—so many rules to follow, so many things to "take care of" (translation: tolerate).

Anyway, I went out to grab a packet of Milo powder. Simple mission, right? It was literally just one train station away. But by the time I got back, I was sweating like a cow that just finished a marathon. The weather? Absolutely brutal. The sun? Stabbing my skin with a thousand tiny needles. Sooo, I had (more like my wallet forced me… lol) to get myself a large Mr. Coconut to quench my thirst. Worth it. But now I probably need to shower again—despite the fact that I just showered before heading out. I cannot deal with the sticky sweat situation. Nope.

lifesaver

And as I’m typing this, I came across that viral trend where people ask ChatGPT to turn their pictures into Ghibli-style art. Obviously, I had to try it. So I used one of my Chinese New Year photos, and let me tell you—it turned out way better than expected. So many details, so much perfection. Sure, it took ages to process, but hey, good art takes time, right? Clearly, AI was busy inspecting every pixel like a perfectionist artist. Good job, ChatGPT. The power of AI is truly insane.

By the way, I ordered food from my go-to spot, SiChuan Chef, using FoodPanda for the first time. Thought I’d be smart and use a first-timer voucher for 50% off. But guess what? When I was about to check out, they randomly handed me a 60% discount voucher. I have no idea what special occasion this was for, but who am I to question free money?mSo I ended up paying just 10.60 SGD for 12 dumplings, broccoli, tofu skin, doupi, and pork belly. Absolute steal. Obviously, I couldn't finish it all, so that’s dinner sorted too.

Oh, and before I forget—I also got some mystery fried rice from Aunty L, aka XT’s mom. The portion? Enough to last me two days. If survival ever comes down to a food shortage, I’m set.
