Sleep > Everything
It’s finally Wednesday, and we — the noble corporate slaves, a.k.a. 牛马 — are crawling toward sweet salvation: a day off tomorrow for Labor Day. Bless the unions, bless the calendar, bless whoever invented public holidays.
I nearly passed out at 8 p.m. today because I was so exhausted. I spent the whole day running up and down the company like a caffeinated hamster trying to fix everything except my own life. 10/10 would not recommend.
Oh, and last Friday, I did a company-sponsored health check-up (because nothing says “we care” like mildly invasive tests). The results landed in my inbox this afternoon, and guess what? Slightly high cholesterol — just like last year. Consistency is key, I guess.
According to my mum, it’s definitely the food I eat and the fact that I move less than a decorative plant. She might be onto something. I hate that sticky, sweaty post-workout feeling, which is why I prefer swimming… but let’s be real, I haven’t touched a pool in months.
I solemnly swear that I will sleep earlier and exercise more… once I’m back in Kuching. Future me will definitely be healthy, fit, and maybe even glowing.
Also, I seriously need a haircut. It might look short to normal humans, but to me, it’s long enough to start its own personality. I’m resisting the temptation to grab scissors and go full DIY — barely.
Anyway, tomorrow is sacred. I shall sleep until my body decides to rise on its own, fully recharged like a phone on airplane mode. Happy (almost) Labor Day to me.
