My Newest Obsession
I almost turned my laptop off, but then I remembered—I haven’t written anything for the blog today.
I left work pretty late, around 6 PM, and guess what? It’s all thanks to a brilliantly stupid last-minute meeting at 5:15 PM. Like seriously, who in their right mind schedules a meeting when it’s basically "time to escape" o’clock? And of course, they labeled it "urgent"—but let’s be real, work can always wait (unless you’re a surgeon or a bomb defuser, which I am not).
Anyway! On to something far more important: my latest obsession.
So yesterday, as usual, I opened YouTube around noon. The first video that popped up? A Bon Jovi’s "Always" cover by Enhypen’s Jay. And let me tell you, I was immediately drawn in by the thumbnail. Bro. His face? Sculpted by the gods. His bone structure? So sharp it could cut my will to live. Obviously, I clicked.
Now, I have this habit of scrolling through the comments while watching a video, and the first comment I saw was: "I need this on Spotify." And I kid you not, this NEEDS to be on Spotify. (Even though I don’t use Spotify. But that’s not the point.) His voice is so good that, honestly, it should be declared a mandatory listening experience for every human being.
Then, of course, I went full detective mode and started stalking researching this guy. Turns out, he was born in 2002, which means... he’s only 23 years old. BRUH. He’s basically a baby. A musically gifted, ridiculously handsome baby.
He grew up in the U.S. and moved to Korea when he was 8 or 9. He speaks fluent English, though he mentioned feeling a bit nervous using it since he doesn’t get many opportunities in Korea. (Jay, my dude, you’re doing amazing. We understand you perfectly—especially when you sing.)
So yeah, that’s my new face of the day for y’all. And right now, I’m still streaming his cover on repeat because, honestly, I might be obsessed obsessed.
