Road Trip Coming Soon
Today was another "productively unproductive" day — in the best way possible.
I was heroically woken up by my mum at 6:15 AM. Yes, you read that right — AM. Apparently, I was auditioning for Sleeping Beauty. We then went for a jog, which lasted a whole hour! My body felt so light afterward, I was convinced I had accidentally jogged off half my soul.
After surviving that cardio adventure, we headed for breakfast at our usual market — the one that’s basically our second home. But before the feast began, we made a quick pit stop to visit my grandma and aunt. Grandma had a mission for us: "Tapao Kueh Chap!"
Now, I hadn’t thought about Kueh Chap at all… until she mentioned it. And then BOOM — it was all I could think about. Obviously, I had to have it.
For the uninitiated, Kueh Chap is a magical, slightly suspicious-looking bowl of pure joy. It contains a collection of pig parts that sound like a dare — pork belly, intestines, kidneys, ears… and probably some other mystery bits that you’re better off not asking about. It may sound like Fear Factor, but I swear, it tastes like heaven.
Even better? It works like a charm on my digestive system. Without fail, every time I eat Kueh Chap, my body goes, “It’s time.” Great news for anyone struggling with constipation — Kueh Chap is your natural solution.
Back home, we settled into our usual routine. Except… I no longer have a usual routine, so I just kind of stared into the void until I found something to do. Fortunately, Mum mentioned wanting to go on a road trip to Sibu and Miri. That was my cue to spring into action (mentally).
I finally sat down and started planning. According to The Grand Itinerary, we’ll be away for three days, staying at different hotels each night. First night in Sibu, second in Miri, and the third back in Sibu — but in a different hotel, because we’re fancy like that.
The route? Sarikei ➡️ Sibu ➡️ Bintulu ➡️ Miri.
We’re dedicating extra time to Sibu, because — let’s be honest — Sibu = food paradise.
Let’s hope for a safe trip, lots of delicious meals, and experiences that are worth at least three Instagram posts and one food coma.
