Three Days Jobless

Hi people!
Can you believe it’s been three whole days since I last worked?!? THREE. DAYS. I swear, my brain still thinks it's on factory mode, but my body’s like, “We chillin’ now.”

So, here's the tea: my employment pass got cancelled on 23 May (RIP, EP 🪦), and on the very same day, they handed me a Short Term Visit Pass (STVP)—how generous! That pass lets me stay up to 90 days in Singapore, which is basically a mini holiday… except I had to go to UTM in JB to collect my academic transcript (adulting never stops, folks).

But plot twist: the moment I left Singapore, my shiny new STVP went poof—cancelled. So now, if I want to get back in, I have to fill in the SG Arrival Card and re-enter as a visitor. (Tourist Carmen, reporting for duty!)

Some people were like, “What a waste! You could’ve job-hunted with that 90-day window!” But joke’s on them—I’m a special case. Since I’m flying back to my hometown on 27 May, it doesn’t really matter if I stay for 1 day or 90. Either way, the countdown’s on.

So now I'm back in my rented room, and guess what? I spent a good 4 to 5 hours decluttering. And yes, I don’t even own that many things. It was just me vs. The Great Debate:
Keep or yeet?

There was this vase I bought when I first came to Singapore—used it once, then let it live rent-free in my wardrobe as a dust collector. And don’t even get me started on the clothes hangers. What was I thinking? They take up so much space in my luggage, you'd think they were moving in too.

Spoiler alert: my suitcase is about to burst, and it’s probably over the 25 kg limit. So I coughed up 29 SGD for 7 more kg of cabin luggage. I’m now in Tetris mode, trying to make sure everything fits just right. But hey, this has taught me one thing:
Stop buying weird, bulky things. Life tip for nomads like me.

Tomorrow's Mission:

  • Wake up for breakfast like a functioning adult

  • Hit two banks to change my number to a Malaysian one

  • Visit Singtel to ask about my prepaid plan and say bye-bye to it

  • Treat myself to a final Mr Coconut (we love a dramatic last drink)

  • Have dinner with my friends

  • And spend my last night in Singapore soaking in all the feels...

Not sure when I’ll be back in SG… but I’ll definitely carry a little piece of it with me.

Last meal in my company
