Morning Mishaps
I think today qualifies as an unlucky day, but thankfully, the unlucky events were limited to the morning. Let me walk you through the chaos I faced.
As usual, I headed out at exactly 8:07 a.m. While waiting for the elevator, I was listening to YouTube music and daydreaming, lost in my own world. When the elevator arrived, I logically stepped in. And then, disaster struck.
Almost immediately, I caught a whiff of something... off. I looked down, and BOOM — I had stepped on poop. Yep, golden-colored poop. To make things worse, someone else had stepped in it before me, so it was smeared all over the elevator floor. Gross.
At that moment, I knew there was no way I could allow myself to walk around in those "poopy shoes." So, I had no choice but to clean it. Of course, cleaning it took time, which meant I’d be late for work. I quickly rinsed off the sole with water, focusing on the left shoe — the sole offender. (Side note: The poop was soft and watery but, thankfully, not sticky. Does that count as lucky? No idea.)
After a quick rinse, I shoved my shoes into a plastic bag, silently vowing to clean them properly later. But here’s where things took a turn for the better: I remembered I had a spare pair of shoes!
I bought them last year for my company’s dinner and dance and hadn’t worn them since. Thank past-me from October for spending that $14 SGD on a pair of white school shoes. I honestly can’t imagine what I would’ve done without them.
And wow, as I’m typing this, the memory of that smell just came back to haunt me, like the poop is still stuck to me somehow... Ugh, what a nightmare.
Anyway, let’s flush away the poop topic (pun intended) and dive straight into food. I know, transitioning from poop to food is kind of gross, but bear with me!

With only seven days left until Chinese New Year, the festive vibes are in full swing. The atmosphere is getting more and more cheerful, and CNY gifts have started piling up in my office.
This afternoon, my colleague gave me bakkwa again — and it’s a big piece! Definitely my favorite treat for Chinese New Year. Nothing beats that sweet and smoky goodness. It’s like a little edible slice of celebration!
By the way, a random thought just popped into my head. Does anyone know what it truly means when someone describes a person as “vibrant”?
Someone once told me that I was very vibrant (the only person who has ever said that to me, by the way). It left me wondering—what does a vibrant person actually look like? Is it about their energy, their personality, or the way they light up a room? I’ve always been curious about how others see this trait in people.
(Answer from Mr Google: Someone or something that is vibrant is full of life, energy, and enthusiasm.)
