My 100th Blog Post!
Today was relatively peaceful compared to yesterday. Last night, when my supervisor informed me that he’d be on sick leave for two days, I had a strong urge to "accidentally" catch the same mysterious illness. The thought of dealing with that lousy manager for two full days was already draining my soul.
But fate (or sheer luck) was on my side—he spent most of the day busy helping another department instead of meddling with ours. We had visitors from India this morning, and according to the original plan, my supervisor was supposed to lead them around and explain what we do. Unfortunately, as we all know, he was on sick leave. Logically, this responsibility should have fallen on my manager because… well, that’s literally his job.
But, ladies and gentlemen, the man vanished into thin air.
When B from the Quality department tried calling him, he conveniently did not pick up. Desperate, B had to contact my poor sick supervisor, who, instead of being left alone to recover in peace, was forced to play tour guide coordinator from afar. He suggested B ask CH—a guy who only joined the company one month after me—to take over.
Meanwhile, where was my manager? Oh, just casually wandering around in another department (P), hanging out with his bestie, who also happens to be the manager of Department P. These two are inseparable—like those BFFs who go for smoke breaks together, eat together, and apparently even sync their toilet trips. And there they were, just standing around, chatting, walking, and occasionally moving things around (for dramatic effect, I assume).
Now, I’m not one to judge… but when everyone else is drowning in work, wouldn’t it make sense for the manager to, I don’t know, help his own team? Instead, he was out there leading by example—an example of how to avoid responsibilities like a pro. Bravo. Truly inspirational.
The only peaceful moments of my day were between 3 PM and 5 PM, when I had a training and testing meeting with a team from different departments. I love meetings where there’s no unnecessary drama—just people coming together, discussing ideas, and turning them into reality. A solid two-hour break from workplace chaos.
And, of course, my absolute favorite time of the day? 5:30 PM. Because that’s when I get to pack my stuff, flee the office, and go home.
Ahh, just three more days until the weekend.
Oh, and guess what? This is my 100th blog post! That’s right—I’ve managed to keep this going for 100 whole days! Honestly, I never thought I’d last this long, but here I am. Here’s to the 200th post—because workplace shenanigans will never run out of content.
