75 Dumplings?!

Lunch: 8.20 SGD

Saturday rolled around, and I finally dragged myself outside for some fresh air and a little adventure. A few months ago, I came across a post about a dumpling and noodle shop in Bugis, and ever since, I’ve wanted to try it. But, as always, the universe and my terrible timing said, “Nope.”

But today, finally, my brother and I made it there! The shop is called A9 Noodle Dumpling, run by a Chinese owner from China (so you know it’s legit). For the two of us, the total bill came to 16.40 SGD. My beef noodle soup was only 5 SGD, and my brother’s dried beef noodle was also 5 SGD. We also ordered a plate of dumplings—15 pieces for just 4 SGD. And, of course, we needed drinks, so we both grabbed a canned drink for 1.20 SGD each.

Now, here’s where things got interesting. While I was struggling to finish my meal (because portion control is a myth), my brother thought his wasn’t enough. But nothing—and I mean nothing—prepared us for the couple sitting behind him. These two ordered five plates of dumplings. That’s 15 pieces per plate. In total, they devoured 75 dumplings. SEVENTY-FIVE. Bruh… how?? Do they have a second stomach I don’t know about?? But hey, 20 SGD for 75 dumplings? Absolute steal.

After that, we headed to Jurong Point—because of course it’s Jurong Point. It’s practically our second home at this point. I grabbed some fruits for dinner (balance is key), but then I saw a tub of Lay’s chips and caved. It’s been forever since I last had them, and I kinda missed that crispy, salty goodness. So, for just 2 SGD, I bought myself a little tub of happiness. No regrets.
