Knocked Out by the Sun

Lunch: 2.50 SGD

I just applied for my annual leave on April 1, 2025, and April 17, 2025! Why these two days, you ask? Well, let me walk you through my master plan.

First off, March 31 is a public holiday that conveniently falls on a Monday. So, like any strategic genius, I decided to extend my vacation by taking April 1 off—not because I want to play April Fool’s pranks, but because Tuesdays suck. Specifically, because Tuesday = weekly department meeting = my manager using the time to gaslight everyone into thinking our suffering is “character-building.” So, by taking leave, I get to enjoy an extra-long weekend from Saturday to Tuesday.

Next, we have April 18, another public holiday on a Friday. Obviously, I’m taking leave on April 17, because why settle for a regular weekend when I can have a **4-day break—**twice in one month?! Life’s all about maximizing rest with minimal effort.

Now, here’s where it gets juicy. On April 21, after my well-deserved vacations, I will march into the office and submit my resignation letter like a true mastermind. That’s Plan A. But if my manager pulls another stunt that pisses me off before then? Boom. Plan B: I resign on April 2 instead.

Ideally, sticking to Plan A is better. That way, I can serve my one-month notice, wrap up my job by May 21, and have time to leisurely stroll around Singapore before flying home. If I rage-quit earlier, my May rental goes to waste, and let’s be real—staying longer in Singapore isn’t ideal because eating out here is a luxury sport.

So, here’s to my perfectly calculated escape plan. Cheers!

By the way, I seriously fell asleep last night before 9 PM because I was too tired. The exhaustion came from walking under the scorching sun and then walking back yesterday. Please remind me not to do this again.
