A Food Coma

Before y'all come at me, let me explain myself for being late with today’s blog post—or should I say yesterday’s, because it’s already past midnight. Time flies when you’re procrastinating.

So, I went out for dinner with my university coursemates, XT and JP. We ended up at a place in Suntec City called Beautiful Lai Grilled Fish (yes, even the name is fancy). And that’s when I realized—Suntec City is basically our second home. Last time, we were there stuffing ourselves at Sushiro, and now here we are again. At this rate, we might as well start paying rent.

Anyway, I was freaking full. In fact, I still am while typing this. The rice? Amazing. The grilled fish? Delicious. The soup? Bizarre—no joke. And the dessert? Meh, the rice cake didn’t quite live up to the hype. Solid 8.5/10 overall, though. Definitely worth a second visit.

After that, we headed to the Maxwell MRT area in search of a café to sit down, chat, and do what we do best—discuss “women’s stuff.” You know, life updates, a little gossip, and, in their case, deep discussions about marriage and starting a family. Both my friends have boyfriends, so naturally, these topics come up. One of them has even bought a condo in KL. But since it's near Sunway University, she’s renting it out to get some of that sweet, sweet rental income. Meanwhile, my other friend is eager to invest in property too.

As for me? I did have thoughts about buying a house a few years ago, but lately, that idea has taken a backseat. My mum always says, "Don’t be aggressive when making decisions," and honestly, she has a point. I know for sure I’m not ready for that kind of big commitment yet. Plus, I already have a house back in my hometown, so I don’t feel the rush to tick off those life milestone checkboxes—buy a house, get married, have kids, buy a car… the whole package. That lifestyle? Can’t really see myself in it. For now, I’m just going with the flow. Let’s see where life takes me.

Alright, that’s all for today’s update! I have plans tomorrow, so I’d better get some sleep. Nights and sweet dreams!
